Ross Marine, John's Island, SC SM 475 to Bohicket Creek, SC, SM 495

Oasis left Ross Marine around 8:00 with sun rays against her hull. Today's trip was fairly short. Due to low tides, the captain decided that it was best to stop mid way to Beaufort to gain time for the next day tides. From SM 495 of the ICW, Oasis navigated in the North Edisto River and then up the Bohicket Creek to the Bohicket Marina & Market which is approximately 7 miles up the creek. Today was the warmest since North Myrtle Beach. The weather was about 15 degrees C and the captain and first mate took advantage of the nice weather to stroll around the marina in shorts.

Oasis went under John F. Limehouse Fixed Bridge at SM 480.

Charleston, SC SM 469 to Ross Marine, Charleston SC, SM 475

The captain left Charleston City Marina around 12:00 to go to Ross Marine. Oasis was due for an inspection of the anodes and it's bottom. No further than 100 yards from the marina, Oasis motor was making noise, so the captain return to the marina to have the engine inspected. It turned out that an oil fitting had broken. The mechanic from the city marina repaired the leak and Oasis was once again on route by 15:00.
At Ross Marine, Oasis was hauled out with a travel lift and once the inspection of the bottom done and the anodes replaced, Oasis was launched in the water where she docked for the night.

Leaving Charleston, Oasis went underneath the James Island Expressway Fixed Bridge at SM 470.

At SM 471, there is another bridge to go through.

Georgetown, SC SM 405 to Charleston, SC SM 469

The captain and wife left at 7:15 on this Thursday morning for their 65 mile day trip.  With bright sunny skies and only 5 knots of wind, it was a pleasant day.  Again, they had to deal with the temperature, the thermometer being just at 8 degrees C, it was still chilly being on the water. It warm up to 15 degrees C by late afternoon and both crew members appreciated the weather getting warmer. They motored all the way and at 15:30, Oasis was docked at the Charleston City Marina.  After they relaxed a bit, Jean Guy and Roselind  took a shuttle bus downtown to do some sightseeing and ended the evening by having dinner at Hank's Seafood Restaurant to have a southern culinary taste.
